Information for WIC 2010
On Arrival
The conference is taking place exclusively in the Martin Hall building, East Park, Loughborough University, Leicestershire, LE11 3TU (Please see attached PDF for travel instructions). Please register at the reception desk, which is directly in front of you when you arrive at the Martin Hall building. You will receive a delegate pack, printed programme and goodie bag upon arrival. You will also be issued with a name badge. We invite delegates to sign up for the Bistro Workshops at reception on arrival, as places for these sessions will be limited. There will be no sign-up for panel sessions, you can just make your way to the session of your choice.
Food and Drink
Refreshments will be available to purchase from the Martin Hall Theatre Bistro between 9am-5pm. Lunch will be served in the Bistro area from 1pm-2.15pm, with a range of hot and cold food available. Please note that lunch is not covered within the ticket price. You are welcome to bring a packed lunch but please bear in mind that only food purchased in the venue can be eaten in the Bistro area. There will be a wind-down event from 5-8pm with wine and soft drinks on sale.
Inside Martin Hall
The opening and closing sessions will be taking place in the Main Hall, which is behind the reception desk. The parallel sessions will be taking place in the Main Hall, Drama Studio and Rehearsal Room, with workshops in the Bistro area. Agent 1-2-1 sessions for successful applicants will be taking place in the private office spaces within the Martin Hall building. These offices and all other rooms and facilities will be clearly labeled and signposted on the day.
Throughout The Day
Please try and be prompt in arriving to your sessions – announcements will be made throughout the day when sessions are about to begin. Please direct any enquiries throughout the day to the reception desk. Volunteer staff wearing light blue WIC t-shirts will be happy to point you in the right direction. There’s plenty to do, but don’t forget to take a break and mingle in the Martin Hall Bistro, which will be open and serving a range of drinks throughout the day. A Literature Fair and Book Stall will be taking place in the foyer and Bistro area between 9.30am-5pm, so please feel free to browse at your leisure.
Comments and Evaluation
Evaluation forms will be included within the delegate packs. We would be very grateful if you could take a moment before the end of the day to complete a form and hand it in at the reception desk. Forms will be entered into the WIC2010 prize draw, with a fantastic prize from the book stall up for grabs.
If you have any general comments throughout the day, please feel free to make them at the reception desk. The reception desk staff are volunteers, so please treat them with courtesy.
